Samuel Whitbread Academy is a popular and highly successful upper school (Years 9-13) of 1650 students which includes 450 in the Sixth Form and is the largest school in Central Bedfordshire.
We offer an exceptional academic and extracurricular experience in an outstanding learning environment where students are expected to work hard and achieve their best. We are a member of the Bedfordshire Schools Trust (BEST) a learning community of two nurseries and ten schools, providing outstanding all-through 0-19 education. Everyone at Samuel Whitbread Academy is deeply saddened at the passing of a Year 11 pupil, which has come as a great shock to us all. Our heartfelt thoughts and condolences are with the pupil's family and we ask for their privacy to be respected at this tragic time. Over the coming days and weeks we will be focusing on providing the necessary support, including bereavement counselling with trained professionals, to all in the school community who have been affected by this devastating loss.

This evening sees the eagerly awaited debate between student teams from RBA and SWA, headed and adjudged by Sir Geoffrey Palmer and the FJSS Group about whether statues linked to racism and the slave trade should be torn down or remain. Students have been working hard on their debate and we invite people to join the Zoom session to see and hear from all. The event starts at 7pm and joining details are below.
