Academy Overview:

The Whitbread Rugby Academy, through our strong partnership with Northampton Saints, enables our student athletes the opportunity to access a structured programme of high level training and fixtures coupled with the high quality teaching and learning environment of our outstanding Sixth Form provision at Samuel Whitbread Academy. This provides students with the chance to study their chosen level 3 academic courses in a variety of subjects on either A level or BTEC courses.

Our mission of the rugby academy is to give our students the opportunity to “live like a professional” whilst completing their academic studies.  On the course, students will experience high quality coaching, strength and conditioning sessions, match and performance analysis, recovery sessions and much more.

We have a strong academic focus that ensures that students are working towards their target grades and have a clear plan and pathway for their future academics and chosen career paths. The programme has been designed around ensuring that our student athletes are fully prepared for the choices they make after their Sixth Form studies. We are proud to say that many of our rugby players have gone on to gain scholarships at universities both in UK and USA and some students being offered professional or semi professional rugby contracts.
