YEAR 11 AWARDS EVENING 2O23

 

Our annual Year 11 Awards Ceremony took place on Wednesday 20th September, an evening to celebrate the Year 11 class of 2023 for their academic and social achievements.

Teachers across the departments were asked to nominate students for outstanding academic achievement awards in all courses. The Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards were presented by, Miss Prow (Head of Year) and Mrs Kirkman (Associate Principal).

The audience then listened to an outstanding musical performance by Year 11 student, Rose Speller and Mrs Kirkman.

Guest speaker ex-head boy, Lucas Lyko spoke to the audience all the way from Brussels, where he is undergoing his masters in Urban Studies. He gave valuable advice to our students which will assist them in the next couple of years.

The special awards were then given as follows:

The Poppy Goaman Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts, presented by Nick Martin (Principal).

The University of Bedfordshire Achievement Award for Outstanding Academic Progress, presented by Lee Bowling,

The Governors Community Award for outstanding contribution to the community, presented by the Chair of Governors, Sharon Dickman.

The Year 11 Award for Outstanding Personal Qualities, presented by the Mayor of Shefford, Cllr Ken Pollard.

The Principal’s Awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement (GCSE), presented by Nick Martin (Principal).

Last year’s Head Student Esme Frankland finished the evening with some closing words.
