Samuel Whitbread Academy

Autumn Achievements

Whitbread Sports have had a fantastic start to the academic year!

Star of the Week

Our wonderful PE Department has introduced a new Star of the week initiative. Each week, PE staff nominate students from each year group who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and excellence in extracurricular activities and in representing our school. Year group winners will have their names proudly displayed on the Star of the Week Display Board and will be awarded a Lunch Queue Jump pass to use for the duration of 1 week.

At the end of each term, all weekly winners will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a Canterbury T-shirt.

A massive congratulations to our young athletes for their hard work and dedication!

Gymnastics and Trampolining

While the competitive season hasn't officially kicked off yet, it has been a standout term of dedication and growth for Whitbread Gymnastics and Trampolining. Our athletes have been putting in fantastic work behind the scenes, sharpening their routines in preparation for the National Competitions later this year. Student turnout and enthusiasm have been brilliant so far, and we are keen to keep this momentum growing. Training runs every Monday after school, with all ages and year groups welcome.

U16 Mixed Hockey league

Congratulations to the U16 Mixed Hockey squad who represented the school in the Bedfordshire Hockey League at Bedford Hockey Centre. We remain unbeaten in the league after some excellent games against Vandyke, Sharnbrook, Sandy and Redborne.

Players of the Match were awarded to Krystal, Sean and Reuben. We are so proud of the team as a whole, who continue to show dedication and passion!

We wish you the best of luck in the county tournament in March.

We look forward to watching our teams progress, and wish you all a well rested half-term!
