Girls Football
U16 District Cup Final
Our U16 team produced a superb performance in a thrilling District Cup Final, eventually falling just short after a dramatic penalty shoot-out. The match began at a relentless pace, with our side dominating the early stages and creating several excellent opportunities to take the lead.
Both teams showcased an outstanding level of football throughout, with the game defined by high intensity, physical battles and moments of real quality on the ball. After an incredibly competitive contest finished 1–1 at full time, the final was decided by penalties. Despite a brave effort from the team, we were narrowly defeated 4–3 in the shoot-out.
While the result was heartbreaking, the players should be incredibly proud of a performance that demonstrated immense determination, resilience and skill throughout.

U14 County Cup Champions
Our U14 Girls delivered a fantastic display to be crowned County Cup Champions with an emphatic 6–2 victory in the final.
The opposition made a fast start, taking an early 1–0 lead within the opening ten minutes. However, the setback only sparked a determined response from our girls, who quickly took control of the game with relentless attacking pressure. A series of efforts struck the crossbar as the team pushed hard for an equaliser, and their persistence was soon rewarded when they found the back of the net.
From that moment onwards, the momentum shifted completely. Playing with confidence and attacking flair, the girls produced an outstanding team performance, adding five more goals across the remainder of the match to secure a deserved victory and lift the trophy.
A special congratulations goes to Mia P, who scored twice, and Faith, who netted an incredible four goals and was deservedly recognised as the opposition’s Player of the Match.
Rugby
Year 10 Rugby Tour
Last weekend, our Year 10 rugby team travelled to Bath and Bristol for an exciting and memorable rugby tour. Although their scheduled fixture against Ivybridge School at National League 2 club Hornets was unfortunately cancelled at short notice, the squad made the most of the opportunity by taking part in a training session in Weston-super-Mare.
The trip also included the chance to watch top-level rugby, with students attending Bristol vs Gloucester at Ashton Gate, followed by Bath vs Harlequins in the Premiership the following day. Off the pitch, Ollie S and Will T impressed during a competitive go-karting session, adding to a fantastic team experience.
Most importantly, throughout the tour, the students were outstanding ambassadors for the academy. Staff and members of the public consistently praised the boys for their attitude, behaviour and professionalism throughout the trip.
The team now look forward to hosting a touring school side from Argentina next week.
