U15 Girls Football – District Cup Champions!
Our U15 Girls football team had an outstanding season, going unbeaten all the way to the final of the District Cup, held at Kempston Rovers. With a long break between their last league match and the final, the team trained with focus and determination to stay at the top of their game.
The final day arrived, and the girls came out strong despite an early challenge. Just three minutes into the match, opponents Mark Rutherford were awarded a penalty and converted it confidently. But our girls didn’t let it shake them. Showing incredible resilience and teamwork, they responded with style, dominating the match with skilful play and excellent passing.
The final whistle blew with a remarkable 8–1 victory, crowning our U15 Girls as District Cup Winners 2024/25. Huge congratulations to the entire squad for an incredible season!
U16 Girls Football – County Cup Finalists
The U16 Girls capped off their season with a thrilling County Cup Final against Redborne, played at Leighton United Football Club. Right from the start, both teams displayed intensity, skill, and a hunger for the win.
Just 30 seconds into the game, SWA opened the scoring after Nadia controlled a loose ball and unleashed a spectacular shot into the top corner. Redborne quickly fought back and equalised, setting the tone for a fiercely contested match.
The second half brought more end-to-end action, with both goalkeepers making crucial saves. Jess T added two brilliant goals to take the game to 3–3 by full time. The match was decided on penalties, with Redborne narrowly edging it 5–4.
Despite the result, our U16 Girls should be incredibly proud of their performance and spirit throughout the season. Well done on a fantastic effort!
