Year 10 Work Experience Major Success

This week, an incredible 271 Year 10 students have been taking part in approved work experience placements across a huge range of industries and organisations. From healthcare and aviation to engineering, education, retail and motorsport, students have embraced the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the world of work.

Placements included organisations such as EasyJet, Network Rail, Red Bull Racing, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, MBDA, Herts Police, Tesco, Centre Parcs and many of our fantastic local lower and middle schools, including an amazing nine students at Shefford Lower School.

We have already received exceptional feedback from employers, with students consistently graded as excellent for attendance, punctuality, conduct and attitude. Employers have praised students for their enthusiasm, professionalism and willingness to learn, with comments including:

“A model work experience student, who has shown enthusiasm and interest in all the meetings she's had so far.”

“He was keen as soon as he arrived, polite, helpful, willing to learn… a joy to have around!”

“A great asset to the meeting.”

We are incredibly proud of the way our students have represented the school and made the most of these opportunities.

A special thank you also goes to Louisa and Lee for all of their hard work organising placements and supporting students throughout the process. Their dedication has helped make this experience possible for so many students.
