Royal Navy Chefs Inspire Year 10 in Hands-On Food Workshop

Earlier this March, our Year 10 Food Technology students took part in an exciting and inspiring workshop led by visiting chefs from the Royal Navy.
During the session, the chefs shared fascinating insights into their careers, speaking in depth about life in the Navy and what it takes to cook for hundreds of people while out at sea. Students learnt about the challenges of working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, as well as the wide range of opportunities available within military catering.
The workshop also gave students the chance to put their own culinary skills to the test. With guidance from the visiting chefs, they prepared and cooked delicious beef burgers and chips, followed by indulgent chocolate brownies.
It was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their practical skills, gain real-world insight into the food industry, and be inspired by unique career pathways.
