Non-Stop Netball, Unstoppable Spirit: £7,000 Raised in 24-Hour Marathon

Students and staff came together on court day and night, showing resilience, teamwork and true community spirit in support of the South Africa tour.

From 19th to 20th March, our Sixth Form students took part in an incredible 24-hour netball marathon to raise funds for their upcoming netball and rugby tour to South Africa this summer. The event began at 3 pm and continued through the night, finishing at 3 pm the following day, with students demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout.

The tour will see four teams — two netball and two rugby — travel to South Africa, where they will compete against local schools and immerse themselves in the culture, creating unforgettable memories.

Throughout the fundraiser, around 30 players rotated on and off the court, ensuring everyone had the opportunity to take part — even during the early hours. A highlight of the event was the strong staff involvement, with many staff members playing alongside students throughout the full 24 hours, helping to create a fantastic atmosphere and a real sense of unity across the school.

Funds raised will support additional excursions during the tour and contribute towards providing sports equipment for a local township school, making a meaningful impact beyond the trip itself.

We are delighted to share that the event raised over £7,000 — an incredible achievement. The marathon was a heartwarming and entertaining event, showcasing the dedication of our students, staff, and wider community.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and donations to support this fantastic cause. Donations are still open for anyone who would still like to contribute:
