Engineering Excellence at the Rotary Technology Challenge

Students across Years 9, 10 and 12 rise to the challenge, with one of the Year 9 teams securing first place in their category.

On Friday 13th March, students from Years 9, 10 and 12 took part in the Rotary Technology Challenge, demonstrating impressive creativity, teamwork and engineering skills throughout the day.

Working in teams, students were challenged to design, build and test a self-powered vehicle capable of travelling up an incline, using only a 200g weight as its source of propulsion. They then presented their designs and final models to a judging panel, explaining the thinking behind their approach.

The standard of work was exceptional, with students producing detailed portfolios and experimenting with a range of gear ratios and mechanical systems to control how their vehicles were powered.

Special congratulations go to our Year 9 team — Olivia N, Harrison G, Henry P and Bow L — who achieved first place in the Foundation category. This is a fantastic accomplishment and a testament to their innovation, teamwork and determination.

Well done to all students involved for representing the school so positively and embracing such a challenging and rewarding experience.
