Celebrating the Life of Stephen Fox: Memorial Football Match

At the start of June, we were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Stephen Fox, an extraordinary educator who dedicated 28 years of his career to Robert Bloomfield Academy and the wider Shefford community. Stephen’s passion, commitment, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
To honour Stephen’s life and legacy, a memorial football match will be held on Friday 26th September at Shefford Sports Club. The match will bring together current Robert Bloomfield Academy and Samuel Whitbread Academy staff, along with former teachers, ex-students, and other key members of the community.
We are expecting a big turnout in support, so please note that there will be no parking at the ground, except for players and volunteers. Local residents are encouraged to drop off and walk to the venue where possible. Additional parking will be available at Shefford Health Centre and at Samuel Whitbread Academy (top car park). Spectators can arrive from 6 pm onwards.
Entry is £5, with all proceeds going to a foundation established in Stephen’s name. The bar and food will be available for purchase, with the bar open from 6.30 to 11 p.m.
We are very much looking forward to celebrating what a fantastic man Stephen was, bringing the community together in a way he loved most—through support, friendship, and a shared passion for sport.
