SWA Society Visits Parliament

On April 1st, SWA Society members had the exciting opportunity to visit the UK Parliament. Students explored its historic halls, stepped into the House of Lords, and heard MP David Lammy speak passionately on pressing global issues, including the conflict in Gaza and the rights of Ukrainians.
The day also featured a dynamic workshop where students drafted petitions on key topics such as social media regulation and youth justice reform. MP Alistair Strathern reviewed each proposal, offering valuable feedback and sharing his own experiences in Parliament.
It was an inspiring and empowering day that deepened students’ understanding of political engagement and public advocacy.
