Duck Hatching Project Brings New Arrivals to SWA

Two ducklings have successfully hatched, with a third expected to arrive this Friday as students continue following the journey live.
Two ducklings have successfully hatched as part of our Duck Hatching Project 2026, and we are delighted to report that both are doing well!
This year’s project has been especially exciting, as the eggs are the offspring of ducks that originally hatched here at SWA last year. Students and staff have loved following the journey through the live stream and eagerly awaiting each new arrival.
A third egg has now “pipped”, the first small crack in the shell that signals a duckling is preparing to hatch, and we are expecting its arrival on Friday.
Interestingly, hatchlings will often communicate with one another from inside their eggs to help them hatch around the same time. However, this does not always happen, particularly as these eggs came from two different ducks and may have been laid at slightly different times.
We will continue to share updates as the remaining eggs progress, and you can still follow the journey live using the stream link here
