Year 10 Students Hit the Slopes in Sestriere
Students enjoyed an unforgettable week of skiing, snowshoeing, and exploring Italian culture during the Easter holiday ski trip to Italy.
During the Easter holidays, a group of Year 10 students travelled to Sestriere, Italy, for an exciting week of skiing in the Italian Alps. After an early start and journey from Gatwick to Turin, students arrived at their hotel ready to be fitted with ski equipment and prepare for a busy week on the slopes.
Across the week, students took part in daily morning and afternoon ski lessons, where they developed their confidence and technique under the guidance of experienced instructors. From beginners finding their feet on the snow for the first time to more experienced skiers improving their skills on more challenging runs, it was fantastic to see the progress made by all students throughout the trip.
The visit was not only about skiing, but also about enjoying the wider experience of being in Italy. Students explored the local town during a town trail, enjoyed an evening trip to the cinema, sampled delicious sweet focaccia and hot chocolate, and had opportunities to shop and experience the local culture. One of the highlights of the week was snowshoeing through the snowy mountain scenery, giving students the chance to take in the breathtaking views of the Alps.
The final evening included a quiz and trip awards, celebrating the achievements, resilience, and positive attitudes shown by students throughout the week.
The ski trip was a fantastic experience for everyone involved, helping students to build confidence, independence, teamwork, and lasting memories. A huge thank you goes to all the staff who organised and supported the visit, making it such a successful and enjoyable trip.
