Keep up to date with all March Whitbread Boys & Girls Football News.
It has been a monumental term for our football program. From historic national streaks to dominant local performances, our teams have shown incredible character on the pitch.
U18s:
Our U18 squad continues to rewrite the record books. Following a gritty 2–1 victory away at Sandbach School, the boys have officially secured their place in the ESFA National Final.
-
Goal Scorers: Dan Kemp and Harleigh Johnson-Standley.
-
A Historic Streak: For the third year in a row, the team travels to Stoke to compete for the national title. Maintaining this elite standard for three consecutive seasons is a legendary achievement.
16s: Double Finalists
The U16 Boys have been in clinical form, dispatching their semi-final opponents to secure spots in two major finals:
-
County Cup Semi: A dominant 4–1 win against Wootton.
-
District Semi: A masterclass 5–0 victory over Van Dyke.
With two opportunities for silverware, these boys are proving they are ready for the step-up to our Sixth Form Football Programme in the coming years.
U15s: A Gritty Cup Run Ends
Our U15s’ cup journey unfortunately came to an end this Tuesday against a very strong Cedars side.
In a match defined by a difficult pitch and even tougher weather conditions, the boys found themselves 2–0 down at the break. Despite a huge second-half push to get back into the game, they were caught on the counter-attack, with Cedars making it 3–0 with the final kick of the match. While the result went against us, the team should be proud of the spirit they showed until the very last second.
International Call Up
Whitbread Football are delighted to share that U18 winger Dan Kemp has earned international recognition following an outstanding season with the First XI.
After progressing through a highly competitive and rigorous trial process, Dan has been selected to represent the England Schoolboys squad in their upcoming international fixtures — a fantastic achievement and a testament to his hard work, dedication, and talent.
Despite his young age, Dan has already made a strong impression at senior level with Step 4 club Stotfold FC, with his pace, confidence on the ball, and attacking threat from wide areas causing nightmares for senior full-backs.
Everyone at Samuel Whitbread is incredibly proud of Dan and wishes him the very best as he takes this exciting step onto the international stage.
