The Post-16 national performance tables have now been published, based on the 2025 examination results, and we are incredibly proud to share some exceptional news.

Across all sixth forms in Bedfordshire – including Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough, and including independent schools – Samuel Whitbread Academy Sixth Form has been ranked the top state school in the county.

Based on both the Average Points Score and Average Grade achieved, SWA Sixth Form sits in an impressive 4th place overall, with only three independent schools in Bedford placed above us.

These outcomes reflect the dedication, resilience and hard work of our students, alongside the expertise and commitment of our Sixth Form staff.

We are also delighted to celebrate this year’s Year 13 Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) results, which were outstanding:

• 67% achieved A–B*

• 100% achieved A–C*
