Boys Football Monthly: Cups, Leagues, and the "Miley Effect"!
It has been an extraordinary term for our football program. Across four major competitions, our squads have displayed resilience, clinical finishing, and a "never say die" attitude.
U18S celebrate their quarter-final win…
U18S & 1st XI: Chasing National Glory
Superleague: Repton Conquered, Hartpury Awaits
The 1st XI’s momentum continues to build in the prestigious Superleague. After finishing the group stages unbeaten, the boys faced a daunting trip to the renowned Repton School. Playing on an A* grade surface, the team overcame a "hatful" of missed chances to secure a professional 3-1 victory.
-
The Big One: Next Friday, the boys face Hartpury University & College (last year's finalists) in the Last 16.
ESFA Schools Cup: The Semi-Final Streak
Our senior side delivered a masterclass in their Quarter-Final, securing a dominant 5-0 victory. This marks the 4th time in the last 5 years that we have reached the National Semi-Finals.
-
Standouts: Noah A (4 goals), Noah J (excellent saves), and a dominant midfield engine room run by Sam L (C) and Joel P.
AOC Colleges League: 5-Star Performance
A long journey to Eastbourne to face Buckswood School resulted in a magnificent 5-1 win, booking a place in the Quarter-Finals.
-
Scorers: Toby S (2), Jake E, Frankie K, and Faris A.
U14S: The "Miley Effect" Ignites County Cup Run
Our U14S have had a season of highs and lows, but the arrival of Mr Miley as interim manager has sparked a "Michael Carrick-esque" resurgence! Under his guidance, the boys secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Priory School in the County Cup.
The scoreline could have been even greater had we been more clinical, but the quality of play was exceptional. The boys now prepare for a massive away test against Lealands School, one of the top-ranked sides in the area.
U16S: Resilience in the National Cup
Our U16S bowed out of the National Cup following a heart-pounding 2-2 draw against Coopers' Company and Coburn School, eventually falling in the lottery of penalties.
After trailing 2-0, goals from Harry T and Lucas H showed the incredible character of this group. Having reached the QF and Last 16 in consecutive years, these players have a bright future as they transition to U18 football.
