Year 10 Maths Competition Success

Two university students, Erin Rowe and Jensen Beal, recently completed a summer internship with the Maths department at Samuel Whitbread Academy. As part of their placement, they hosted an exciting Maths competition for two of the top sets in Year 10. The challenge, designed by the interns and inspired by a murder mystery format, tasked students with solving a series of Maths problems to uncover a hidden word.
Congratulations to 10STM2 for winning the competition! They’ve officially been crowned champions of the top sets in the Year 10 population, an impressive achievement!
A huge thank you to Erin and Jensen for their creativity and support. Their enthusiasm sparked a real buzz for problem-solving across the year group. Many students also benefitted from in-class and small group support throughout the internship, helping to build both confidence and a love for Maths.
