Year 8 Transition Week: A Warm Welcome to Our Newest Students

From the 1st to the 4th of July, we were delighted to host our Year 8 Transition Week, an exciting and important milestone for students preparing to join us in September.

The week kicked off with our Year 8 Transition Evening, where students, parents and carers were warmly welcomed into the school community. Families had the chance to order uniforms, explore the school site, and attend an informative presentation about what to expect in the year ahead.

On Wednesday and Thursday, we held our Transition Days, which brought together students from a wide range of schools across the area. These days were filled with fun and purposeful activities, including icebreakers, team-building games, and opportunities to meet their new form tutors. It was fantastic to see friendships beginning to form and confidence growing throughout the sessions.

The week concluded with a special whole-year group day on Friday, when all incoming students came together for the first time. They enjoyed group challenges, got to know more about one another, and took a full tour of the school to help them feel comfortable and confident ahead of September.

We are incredibly proud of how well the students embraced the week, and we can’t wait to officially welcome them into our school community in the new academic year.
