SWA VE Day Celebrations

As part of the nationwide commemorations for VE Day 80, our students have taken part in a number of meaningful activities to honour this historic occasion, both within the academy and in the wider community.
One highlight was the VE Day 80 Poster Competition, organised by Clifton Parish Council. Students were invited to design posters commemorating VE Day, with winning entries featured in a public display. We’re thrilled to share the results:
-
🥇 1st Prize: Darcie W
-
🥈 2nd Prize: Holly W
-
🥉 Joint 3rd Prize: Anna G and Max E
Huge congratulations to all our students for their stunning, thoughtful designs and for showcasing their creative talents so brilliantly.
In addition, on Sunday 11th May, three of our choir students represented the academy at the Clifton VE Day service. They led the congregation in singing I Vow to Thee, My Country and God Save the King, a powerful and moving moment that reflected the spirit of remembrance and unity.
A massive well done to these students for fulfilling such a significant responsibility with grace, confidence, and true community spirit. We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part in the VE Day 80 commemorations. Thank you for helping to keep this important piece of our history alive.
